According to local media reports, Ramadan starts on March 23 this year, and the first day of Eid-al-Fitr and Shawwal will most likely fall on Friday, April 21.
UAE Ramadan 2023: Scheduled Working Hours
According to the UAE Labor Law, “private sector employees must work 8 hours per day or 48 hours per week. Working hours are reduced by two hours during the holy month of Ramadan.”
Except for certain categories of employees provided for in the “Labor Law Enforcement Regulations”, time taken to travel from the employee’s place of residence to the place of work is not considered working time.
During Ramadan, those fasting were required to keep up to 14 hours a day. Daily fasting time increases by minutes.
