Is it possible to get a refund for the balance on my nol card?
You can obtain a refund for your nol card’s remaining or pending balance on Bus, Metro, and Tram. This applies in the event of a lost, damaged, faulty, expired nol card, or if you decide to cancel your nol card.
If your valid and active nol card gets canceled:
- Go to any Metro station and approach a Ticket Office Machine.
- Provide your nol card to the station agent.
- The station agent will validate if the card is still valid and active, and if its balance is not more than 100 AED.
- If your balance is above 100 AED, you will need to apply through other RTA authorized channels (RTA Website, Self Service Machines).
- However, if your balance is 100 AED or below, the station agent will issue a cash refund with service fees of 2.5% or 5 AED, whichever is higher.
In case you lose, have a faulty, or expired registered nol card:
- Apply for the refund in any RTA authorized channel.
- Provide your nol tag ID, mobile number, and the PIN code
- Select the refund method (cash or nol balance transfer).
- Review the refund details and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Confirm and submit the application.
- The refund is usually approved after 4 days from submitting the application.
- Once approved, you will receive a refund SMS confirmation.
- Collect the refund at any Metro station listed on the refund SMS approval, or through the Smart Teller Machines located at any Customer Happiness Centre.
